Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! I hope you have a sweet day (no pun intended 😜) with your friends and/or loved ones! This year, we’ll be celebrating with our co-op. My kids really look forward to this. Everyone brings a homemade Valentine’s Day box and enough valentines to pass around and put in each person’s container. It’s so fun for the kids to bring it back home and go through it later!
I’d love to hear how you guys decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your kids this year – feel free to comment and share below (or in our FB group)! 🥰 If you need some extra ideas for today, scroll below!
Are you new to Valentine School 2024? No worries! You can learn more about it here and join our Valentine School FB group as well🙂 If you need to print out the Valentine School Calendar, scroll to the bottom of this post and pop your email in so I can send it to you!

Day #3. Valentine’s Party Day!
Here is some of what we are planning to do on Wednesday! 🙂 If you purchased the Valentine School bundle, there is a little poem (instead of discussion questions) included today!
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: These printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only until Valentine’s Party Day is over! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Valentine’s Party Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
#1. Happy Valentine’s Day Paper Crown/Headband/Hat
This PDF download comes with two different paper crown options! These are pretty easy to put together. You’ll just have your kids color and then cut out the three headband pieces. Tape everything together and then measure your child’s head before taping the paper crown shut.
#2. Make a DIY Mini Mailbox
We made these LAST Valentine’s Day and my kids actually STILL have their little mailboxes taped up on the wall outside their bedroom. Having their own little mailbox and passing notes back and forth was so fun for them throughout the entire year, not just during Valentine’s Day.
To put this together, you’ll want your kids to color their mailbox and then cut out the pieces. Make sure they don’t cut off the dotted sections! You’ll need those to tape or glue down.
Cut out the top section of the mailbox opening (like pictured below). This will make it easier to open and shut the mailbox door.
After that, you’ll start putting together the mailbox itself. Fold in the tab and bend the top of the mailbox over like this. Use the folded tab to glue or tape it to the bottom of the mailbox (see below).
Now you’ll put the back of the mailbox together. Just fold in the little tabs, add glue to the outside (see below), and press to the wall of the mailbox. You can look at the photos to see an example of this.
Now you’ll add the front of the mailbox. Fold the tab and tape the tab to the bottom of the mailbox, like this.
And you’re done!! It might sound complicated, but if your kids are like mine, it’ll be worth it! Like I said, they STILL have their mailboxes on the wall outside their bedroom door! I took a photo just so I could show you guys (see below). They are a little worn, but I still can’t believe they’ve lasted a full year on the wall!
#3. Make Some DIY Valentines To Pass Out!
*FYI – this is the same download as above! Both activities are included in the same download.
After making the mini mailbox, the first thing to do (of course) is to make some DIY cards! These little, “You Are A-MAZE-ING” Valentine cards would be fun to make for each other or to make for their friends. If your kids want to pass these out to friends, print them out on cardstock (just to make it extra sturdy) and grab a pack of Valentine pencils, so that they can tape one to each card. I’m all for handing out easy, non-candy valentines! 😅
Snack
For our snacks today, we’ll be making Valentine cookies to take to our co-op class party! You can do whatever you’d like, of course. I figured that today we would combine our snack time with our party plans and choose whatever I knew we’d bring to the party.
Books
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
Today we’ll be reading, “The Biggest Valentine Ever” by Steven Kroll and “Pete the Cat: Valentine’s Day is Cool” by James Dean.
If you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are read aloud options on YouTube!
