Before doing today’s activities, watch this field trip to a children’s garden for your kid(s) to get some inspiration before planning their garden!
#2. Dreaming of a Garden Art Project
Is your child wanting to brainstorm their future garden (either in real life or their imaginary garden)? Use this printable for them to write, color, or even paint in the vegetables and plants that they’d like to plant in their dream garden. They can also color or paint their side profile.
#3. Garden Dreams Roll-A-Word Poem Activity

#4. Build a Lego Garden
Using blocks or Legos, encourage your students to build a model of their dream garden.
#5. Themed Snack Idea
While you read (or listen to) the books below, have the garden themed snack idea below! Cut some baby carrots and arrange them around dip so they look like a flower.
#6. Read or Listen to a Book!
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
While you enjoy snack time, wrap things up with a garden-inspired book! You’re welcome to read any of the suggested books in the Garden School bundle, but at our house today we’ll be reading, ”The Curious Garden” by Peter Brown.
If you were unable to grab the book from the library or store, here is the read aloud option on YouTube!
Do you have older kids? I suggest having them read 1-2 chapters from, “The Secret Garden”!
I hope that you and your family had a wonderful time learning together today! If you need to print out the May Calendar still, drop your email below and I’ll send it right over!
