Day #12. Baby Bird Day!
Here is what we have planned for today! 🙂 Did you want to download and print out everything for this month all at once? You now can! Grab the Spring School Activity Pack here!
This 81-page PDF bundle comes with every printable you’ll need for this month PLUS extra printables (Baby Animals Notebook for Kids, Baby Animal Fact Cards, & Spring Vocabulary Cards). It is great for saving time by downloading and printing everything all at once! You’ll also receive a Spring School bookmark and punch card for your kids to use as they move through each themed day. 🥰
Activity Ideas
IMPORTANT NOTE: Most of these printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only during Baby Bird Day! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Baby Bird Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
#1. Baby Bird Nest Craft Project
Use oil pastels to create baby birds on a piece of black construction paper. Print out this PDF and glue eyes and beaks onto them. Add a nest with the printable or with string/twine!
#2. Go on a Nature Hunt for Nest Supplies
If the weather allows, go outside and hunt for supplies that a bird might use to build a nest. If they want, they can attempt to put it together and create a nest themselves.
#3. Watch This to Learn More About Bird Nests
If your kids are visual learners or if your family likes to include some learning videos, here is one for today from The Good and the Beautiful! There are also some extra options at the bottom of this blog post. 😊
#4. Fill Out Baby Bird Notebook Page (BONUS)
Did you get the Spring School Bundle or the Baby Animals Notebook? Color, read, and fill out the baby bird notebook page!
#5. Read & Hang Up Baby Bird Fact Card (BONUS)
Did you grab the Spring School bundle or the Baby Animal Fact Cards? You can read the fact card for today and hang up on the wall or display board!
Books
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
Today we’ll be reading, “Bird Builds a Nest” by Martin Jenkins and “Time to Fly” by George Lyon.
However, if you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are the read aloud options on YouTube!
PS: If you have an older child, I recommend having them read 1-2 chapters from, “Charlotte’s Web” today!
Do You Have Extra Time? Here Are Some Ideas/Videos!
